Train for a career working with horses and small animals

Are you interested in a career working with horses or small animals?  Are you aged 16+ and not in education, employment or training?  This course is for you.

The course includes units featuring:

  • safe working around horses and small animals
  • exercise and care of horses
  • riding and handling skills
  • diet and nutritional needs
  • job opportunities working with horses and small animals.

Seeds of Change also offers a programme on Personal Development (Employability).

Careers and progression

Here are some examples of career path you could take and places you could study after completing this course:

  • agricultural college
  • carer with small animals
  • employment in rural or equine industries
  • British Racing School

Qualification details

You will study for a City and Guilds Land Based Studies Level 1 Diploma. Functional Skills qualifications are delivered alongside this course up to Level 2

Days, times and locations

You will study one or two days a week depending on what suits you.  You can start at various times throughout the year.

Times: 9.30am-2.30pm

Programmes available in Bedfordshire and Luton.

Taster day

Come along to the introduction event on Thursday 13 September, 2.30pm to 4.30pm at Steppingly Stables.
